The Role

What you'll do and what you'll bring

Key Responsibilities

  • Review logical/physical models, constraints, keys and tenant-aware indexing
  • Govern Flyway migration safety, rollback/forward-fix and release sequencing
  • Monitor queries, locks, connections, storage, vacuum and capacity
  • Tune SQL, indexes and database configuration from measured evidence
  • Own backup, PITR, restore and Multi-AZ failover testing
  • Define retention, archival, masking and non-production data controls
  • Support incidents, data correction and root-cause analysis
  • Prepare reporting/read-scaling evolution without premature complexity

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Advanced PostgreSQL administration and SQL optimisation
  • Amazon RDS operations, monitoring and recovery
  • Indexing, execution plans, locks and transaction isolation
  • Schema migration and zero/low-downtime data change
  • Backup, restore, PITR and disaster-recovery testing
  • Data security, masking and operational troubleshooting
First Six Months

Working Context

What to expect if you join

The role works in a cross-functional, documentation-first and architecture-led product environment. Candidates must be comfortable with hands-on ownership, transparent decisions, code/design review, automated quality controls and production accountability. The six-month MVP excludes unnecessary microservices, Kubernetes, speculative AI and other scope not approved through product governance.
