Key Responsibilities
- Define application, integration, security, data and deployment architecture
- Establish DDD module boundaries, hexagonal ports/adapters and enforceable dependency rules
- Specify session/JWT security, tenant/ownership enforcement and API contracts
- Lead performance, availability, backup, observability and scale design
- Review critical designs and code for architecture fitness and simplicity
- Maintain architecture decisions, diagrams, standards and technical-risk register
- Guide build-versus-buy decisions and external provider integration patterns
- Plan measured activation of Redis, queues, workers and later service extraction
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Deep Java/Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, REST and AWS architecture experience
- Proven modular-monolith and DDD design, including disciplined module boundaries
- Strong application security, threat modelling and identity architecture
- Production experience with Docker, ALB, EC2, RDS, S3 and observability
- Capacity modelling, performance analysis, resilience and recovery design
- Ability to communicate architecture to executives and implementers

What to expect if you join
The role works in a cross-functional, documentation-first and architecture-led product environment. Candidates must be comfortable with hands-on ownership, transparent decisions, code/design review, automated quality controls and production accountability. The six-month MVP excludes unnecessary microservices, Kubernetes, speculative AI and other scope not approved through product governance.
